THE DREAMING WAY

courting the wisdom of dream

with author TOKO-PA TURNER

Friday Dec. 6th, 2024

11 am - 12:30 pm Pacific / 2-3:30pm Eastern

There is a new world waiting to be realized through each of our lives, one individual at a time. In this talk, Toko-pa introduces her revelatory new book The Dreaming Way. With a unique blend of Sufism, animism, and a Jungian approach to dreams, Toko-pa invites us into the world behind this one. She asks us to consider Sophia - the feminine personification of Wisdom - as a way of naming the animating force behind all of life. By following Sophia’s guidance, in the symbols and patterns of our own dreams, we are brought into deeper accordance with the course of nature. Not only does this put us onto the path of personal purpose, but that purpose is relational. Following the Dreaming Way we develop the aptitudes needed to navigate the social, psychological, and ecological challenges of our time.

Reviews of The DREAMING WAY:

“Toko-pa Turner is a remarkable emissary building subtle bridges between the daily world and the realm of dreams and great imagination. At a time when we need both inspiration and wisdom, The Dreaming Way offers both practical and profound ways to be more visionary and more intimately connected to the living web of life.”

MICHAEL MEADE
Author of Awakening the Soul

This is a truly wonderful, wisdom-filled book. Toko-pa Turner has fulfilled her mission of bringing dreaming back to the people who, in our rational culture, have been deprived of its blessing. She puts us in touch with a forgotten friend and teacher called Wisdom, once known to shamans of every culture. The book is exquisitely written, illustrated by remarkable and revelatory dreams. I cannot recommend it more highly. Make time to read and assimilate its beauty, its poetry, and its many gifts.”

ANNE BARING, Ph.D.
Author of The Dream of the Cosmos: A Quest for the Soul

“Toko-pa takes us into the living landscape of our dreaming self. She reconnects us to our nighttime twin, which has the guidance and wisdom we so desperately need if we are to heal our broken world. Allow her words to return you to this numinous, symbolic realm and its patterns of connection that can nourish us in hidden ways, where the Earth and our own body sing together.”

LLEWELLYN VAUGHAN-LEE, Ph.D.
Sufi teacher and author, Sufism: the Transformation of the Heart

The Dreaming Way explores the gift of dreaming in a helpful and articulate way toward a more thoughtful conduct of life.”
